Glow in the dark garden anyone?
I came across an interesting article that got me thinking.
Recently scientists have isolated and removed a part of mushroom DNA and inserted into plant DNA which makes them glow 'naturally' throughout their entire life.

Initially I thought - wow how cool is that! but then the idea of looking out at night and seeing swathes of green (and possibly multi-coloured) lights waving around in the wind made me somewhat less keen, bordering scary and I doubt it would be beneficial to wildlife.
But it's only a matter of time before we have the option to buy glow in the dark petunias

I am sure there is a Douglas Adams joke there vis a vis petunias. Might surprise them out of 'Oh no not again'...
Douglas Adams once wrote, “There is a theory which states that if ever for any reason anyone discovers what exactly the Universe is for and why it is here it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable.
There is another theory that states that this has already happened.”

Tastefully, it could be nice in place of streetlamps etc.
Hopefully it's not something available to the general public...

I wouldn't mind a glow in the dark Fern as a houseplant... Would look good.
I wonder if it would need more nutrients to produce light every night.
