Weed ID needed

Hello, I have some weeds that have appeared recently, and I'm not sure what they are. Also, are they bad, or alright to leave?
Weed 1

Weed 2

Weed 3

This one is everywhere.

That last one is willow herb. Pull them out before you have millions  ;)
1 is just a wee sedum - no problem there
2 is ground elder I think. You may need weedkiller for that.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

    Thanks Fairygirl!
  • 1 Sedum, as stated by other contributor
2 is an elder seedling, as in the shrub. I get these in my garden. It does not look like ground elder. However, there is a thistle growing next to it.
    3 Is a willowherb.

Thanks Rachel. If its an elder seeding can I leave it?

The elder will grow into a tree and the position doesn't look suitable for one, so best removed while it's small.

Thanks Jenny, I'm assuming moving it into a pot would be better for now?

If you really want an elder and can get the roots out intact then you could put it in a pot for now. Nothing to lose if it doesn't take.

Pyra88, please note that Fairygirl and rachelQrtjHBjb state it is 'ground elder' and not the same as Elder tree/shrub. Ground elder is a herbaceous plant that is considered invasive and not in my opinion worthy of growing-on in a pot.

Ahh, thanks! Haha, I'm getting mixed up with the tree! 😂 That makes more sense. I was wondering how a tree ended up there, there aren't any nearby.

I said it wasn't ground elder, but a small elder tree. Pyr88, I wouldn't save the elder. You are better buying a name variety. I find small seedlings of my Pink Lace all over the place but they are never as good as the parent.
