Selecting sedums for variegation?

Well hylotelephium but you know what I mean. This hylotelesedum lajos has made some very pale branches this year, does anyone know if you can select variegation via vegetative material or if it will just revert to type in the regrowth? I get the feeling the lack of chlorophyl will be a problem and I don't want to hack the branch off for it just to die.
