Silver,Birch

Hello,  could anyone tell me if my multi stemmed silver birch will recover from the strong gusts of winds that have blown the top down towards our 6ft fence. All year it has been growing tall and straight and looked really healthy.

I would leave it for now, unless there is actually a break in the stem.  If it does not come straight over the summer, cut that stem down in the autumn.  If the stem is broken, cut just below it now to prevent infection getting in .

Thank you. As far as I can tell there are no breaks so will leave to see how it goes. Need the wind to blow the other way! 😀

Just an update on my Silver Birch, the top didn’t straighten up so we cut it off where it started to lean over. It is now growing well and filling out. We’ve had some very strong winds over past couple of months and it is managing to stay healthy looking and upright. Pleased.
