Wind scorch? I hope so....

This morning I found my lovely, huge copper beech hedge with all the new growth blackened. There are no bugs on the leaves so I hope it is wind scorch as it was fine before the last couple of days of very windy weather. Hoping new growth will be fine, any ideas?

Depending on where you are, there has been a lot of wind and sudden drop in temperatures in the night time. That might be enough to cause damage to new soft growth, especially growth that’s been put on very suddenly due to warm spells.

I can’t see the photos that well but if it’s only on the new foliage it’s most likely that.
