One of my rhododendrons has bloomed as usual but the second one (which I pruned back back harshly last May due to lots of black leaves ) had buds from late last year but has not bloomed. Do some rhododendrons bloom late? This is only my second year living here so have never seen it bloom so have no idea really

    Looks very healthy.
    Be patient flowers will open.
    There are species of Rhododendrons that come into flower every month of the year.

    Yes, ours is a later one and only just showing colour through the buds now.

    Ours has only started showing colours through a couple of the buds over the past few days. Most of them still look like your buds

    Thankyou all so much for your help. I’m really enjoying gardening although I do not have a clue with what I’m doing.

    Excellent.
    We all started with no knowledge and learn as we go along.
    When flowers are dead and brown..I suggest you dead head it.
