Mildew on rose

Hi I think I have the start of Mildew on my rambling rose. I attach some images. I was wondering should I clear some of the growth at the bottom( it’s growing up a pear tree) to allow for more air? Any other suggestions are very welcome too 😊

Powdery Mildew usually attacks when a plant is stressed. The most usual reason for that is drought. The fact that your rose is planted near a tree suggests that drought at the roots is a factor.

Water, water and more water ... several buckets full at least three times a week from now until mid September whether it’s rained or not ... possibly every day in warm dry spells. That’ll give your rose the best chance of overcoming the mildew.

    Hope that helps 😊
