Wild Plant if please

On a recent walk in our nearby field this week, I’ve spotted a very pretty flower along some edges. Any ideas please?

Think they might be Ribwort Plantain, Plantago Lanceolata.

If you pick one and loop the stem around the head, you can fire them across the field. Much childhood fun.

Would these work in a garden do you think, or are they best as a wildflower? We have bought a new house and have a lawned garden with no plants at all!

Not really garden plants @Mousey3. If you need help with a bare plot, load a few pix on a  new thread, with some basic info [aspect, soil type, climate, how much time you have to spend etc]  and you'll get help with doing a border or bed   :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Yes, Plantain.  You could always make tea with the leaves!! (Herbal infusion:  check on Google).  Fire:  we used to do that too, as kids - still doesn't stop me doing that now when out walking!  Or finding fairy toothbrushes in the Wandering Jew(Dew)?
