New lawn.

Hi, I'm going to dig up my lawn and start again. 
I want to put new top soil down. Can I put this on top of the existing soil, or do I have to dig it in?

No, just rake it to a reasonable tilth, walk it in flat and lay the new turf. 

Im assuming there are no other problems or factors in why you want to dig it up and start again.

Of course laying new turf doesnt fix environmental conditions.

Ok thanks for your help. It's full of weeds and different types of grass and unlevel etc.
