Hedgehog?

Hi, wise people, is this a hedgehog ooo? It’s smelly and by my pond.

    Could be although it does look a little short and squat. They are generally the diameter of a regular pencil and an inch or so long but of course they do vary. Just wondering as yours is near your pond whether that could be a wildfowl deposit?

    I’ve never seen wildfowl by the pond either, it’s a tiny pond. But your right it could be. It was definitely wider than a pencil, maybe as wide as 2 pencils.

    I can see the picture now. Hedgehog poo is usually more sausage shaped, often with a taper.

    I would venture owl pellet?

    PS if it is still there, break it up and see if it has bones in it, then for sure it is an owl pellet.
  • It’s not cat poo, there is some soft white bits in it.

    I don't think it is hedgehog poo either, too short and fat.  We have had owls in our garden in the past, there is usually bones, feathers or fur in them.
