Could be although it does look a little short and squat. They are generally the diameter of a regular pencil and an inch or so long but of course they do vary. Just wondering as yours is near your pond whether that could be a wildfowl deposit?

I’ve never seen wildfowl by the pond either, it’s a tiny pond. But your right it could be. It was definitely wider than a pencil, maybe as wide as 2 pencils. thank you for your comment.
I don't think it is hedgehog poo either, too short and fat. We have had owls in our garden in the past, there is usually bones, feathers or fur in them.
