I have 2 Acers trees, very well established that need to be removed due to garden renovations. I am looking to use these in order to help pay for the garden renovations in order to make it more child friendly. Does any one know if I could sell these? Would this be something someone would be interested in? One is green and the other red both are Acer Dissectums. I’d appreciate any advice or help. Thank you.

    Hello Danni and welcome to the forum. Just how big and established are these Acers? I doubt you will find anyone prepared to pay for a well established Acer as there may only be a slim chance that it would move satisfactorily.

    Thank you Ladybird. They were here when we bought the house 2 yrs ago and are approx 4ft tall and a good 5ft spread.

    "Something is worth what someone else is prepared to pay for it" 
    Given the gamble of moving such plants, I'd say folk would be reluctant to pay a lot for them.

    Thanks Hostafan. What if I was to gently dig it up and pot it to see if it would take ok to the move? If I was to do this what time of year would be best to dig it up?

    I'd say the only chance of success would be in the dead of winter . One problem you'll have is the spreading , easily damaged, branches making it hard to get a decent "root ball" removed .
