Could anyone I.d this plant. It came in a delivered mixed box of plants and it looks as though itโ€™s drooping. Many thanks ๐Ÿ˜Š

    Hi Keran,
    I cannot see the flowers very clearly ..please can you add clear close up pics.
    It looks like Calycanthus.
    However 4th May in UK is extremely early to have flowers.

    I think that's a Carolina Allspice shrub, could be Calycanthus x Raulstonii 'Hartlage Wine'. It needs settling down, so lots of watering at the base of plant in the evening or early morning. Continue to do that every day for a week and ease up a bit after two weeks. Throughout the summer months, may need watering every 3 days.

    Calycanthus x raulstonii 'Hartlage Wine'. It's in heavily dappled shade. I assume it's due to the unseonably early warm spell that we had. I think it's at its best about now, I don't rate the flowers that highly once they are all open. That said, the rest of the year I love the large-leaved foliage and its somewhat open habit.
