Olive in a pot: what am I doing wrong??

I have two olives in very large pots. They have been in the same pot for nearly 5 years.
They are getting daily water for a watering system.
But they have no leaves in at the bottom of the plant.
What am i doing wrong???

Possibly too much water, a drainage issue or it doesn't like the watering regime?  It's much better to water trees deeply and then let the top 2 inches of compost dry out before watering deeply again, so I would try doing that.  They grow naturally in arid climates and don't like their roots standing in constantly wet soil.
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

In addition to BobTheGardener's advice, you should give the Olive tree space. You have over-hanging branches from neighbouring plants and plants with tall foliage against it. That can block sun into the plant and they also drop debris and leaves over the plant. You may be creating warm and humid conditions which they don't like. They prefer open dry conditions.
