Very leggy Melianthus Major

I have a Melianthus growing in a pot.  This year it has produced flower plumes and new growth on the upper part of the plant but it has become very leggy and sprawling.  What can I do to tidy it up - can it be pruned and should I deadhead the flowers when they die off?  It is about 6 ft high with 5 branches.  Thanks for any help or advice.

You can cut them back to about a foot tall, obviously you'll lose those flowers ,but you'll have a much bushier plant by the end of summer.
