It could be something like an ox-tongue fungi - although that usually grows on wood. Yours does look distinctly woolly, though - with maybe a leaf underneath it.
Whatever it is, someone’s made a good job of threading cotton round and round to hold the fluffy stuff on it. I think your mum’s having you on and wants to cheer you up during lockdown.
