Plants to go by a watercourse

I've just put in a small watercourse for my pond. Apart from ferns, could anyone suggest suitable plants to go around it? Many thanks

  • Ooh that sounds lovely, would love to see what it looks like!

I used a company called Puddle Plants, when I planted up the pond, last yea. They were so knowledgeable and helpful over the phone.
Their website is great and will give you all th info you need regarding marginal plants etc.

  • I've just put some marginals in the pond which came from lincolnshire pond plants and am waiting for them to get going. What I'm after is suitable plants to go in pockets between rocks by the watercourse. It's a new fibreglass rock effect one which needs to weather in yet but has rocks around it now.

Iris like it damp and also do well around ponds
  • A work in progress as the garden was all overgrown and the pond pretty scummy before I emptied it and put a pump and filter in. Have spent the last two weeks working on it all now, creating borders and a gravelled area. I'm no expert by any means but like to learn.
