Is this Black Spot

Hi, I have noticed these marks on a couple of my climbing roses. This was planted last year and is looking pretty healthy for a newish plant but these marks are bothering me. They have appeared on one or two other roses in the garden but not all of them. Is it black spot. I just get feeling it isn't. The markings are more brown and are broken rather than solid spots and they are on the stalks also. I thought Black spot only went on the leaves. Is there anything I should do? Cheers, Paul
