Oh, that would be good if it was...
I thought it was something like deadly nightshade.
Although our next door neighbour has a big lilac tree, do they self seed?!

They produce suckers. One probably came under the fence.

Sorry, but not Syringa...common name Lilac.
Lilac has leaves opposite to each other.
Mystery plant are alternate.
The leaves look as of they are soft/hairy...are they?

They are quite soft, not overly hairy but got a very fine soft hair I would say

They are quite soft, not overly hairy but got a very fine soft hair I would say
