Plant identifying and advice please

Hi everyone,

I really am having trouble identifying this beautiful shrub I have in the corner of my garden.
It is highly scented and in full bloom now. I hangs like a willow so not sure. Please see attached photos.
Also, sadly I need to move it, so will need to cut all of the flowers having watered it well, and have a hole ready that has also been watered well. Things is I really wanted to put it temporarily in a huge pot, but think this might kill it? Can I please have some advice on all of this.
Thanking you all in advance.

Sara.

    Hi @SCS and welcome 😊 It’s a Choisya ... possibly C. White Dazzler.

As for moving it ... I’d be reluctant ... how big is it?

It should be fine in the pot until you’re ready to plant

Best time to move it is autumn but, if you really have to move it now, make sure it is very well watered first and that the water has time to soak down to the roots.   Remove the flowers to reduce stress and make sure te pot is large enough for the root ball.  Use good quality compost and plant it at the same level it was before then water well.

Keep it out of full sun from say 11am to 4 or 5 pm as this will further reduce stress and, if you can, remove a third of the stems back to the main trunk or base for the same reasons.  Keep it watered as rainfall will not be enough in a pot or even in a new hole in teh ground for its first summer in its new home.

Wow, thank you so much for your advice, it is a meter high and sooooo beautiful, and am really gutted to have to move it, for my partner's shed! But also replacing a fence.
Brilliant advice thank you and also for confirming the name:  Choisya ... possibly C. White Dazzler.
    Many, many thanks!
