Think nettle is good for tomatoes plants and veg, but do not know about comfrey.

Comfrey for fruit and flowers including tomatoes.  Nettle is high in nitrogen which encourages leafy growth so that is best used for cabbages, lettuce or other leafy plants which don't produce fruit or flowers.
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

I grow my own comfrey, and when I'm planting out tomatoes, I stuff a double handful of chopped fresh comfrey leaves in the bottom of the planting hole.  The toms seem to like it.
  • Thank you both for that information am now clear what to use on what, thanks
