Japanese blood grass help

    Not sure about this only  bought it last year was beautiful in autumn green red tall grass now!!!!!any help please or do I bin it😭😭

    It is deciduous, so loses it leaves in the Autumn. They should start growing again soon.

    Are there any shoots at all or stuff going on beneath the soil?
    I had one pot of mine decimated with Vine Weevil one year.

    I find it a beautiful but very fussy plant. 

    I grew it in my last garden and it looked great all summer but died of cold in winter - central rural Belgium so -15C the norm for a lot of winter nights.

    Tried it here and it was great in pots and rapidly spread enough to get cramped so I planted it out in a border.  Died of drought.

    If I see it on sale again I may try it again in my new Japanese maple bed which has more moisture and shade.

    I have also never had luck with it in the ground but OK in pots as long as I remember to water!!
