Sarococca pruning

I bought a half-dead Sarococca from the bargain bin at the local nursery a few years ago.  It is doing very well, but is very leggy and out of shape.  I'd like it to have a more dense habit.  I know they grow very slowly.  How hard back should I prune it, and should I prune every branch?  I was thinking about 1/3 off each branch, but fear I may need to remove more, to make it more dense in the middle.  What do you think?
