Sowing new grass seed and unidentified plant seed included?!

Hello,

I have recently sown a lawn in my garden, after two weeks the grass seed has germinated. Albeit slightly patchy.

I have loads of shoots of an unidentified plant mixed in with the grass, so much so it seems like the box of seed may have contained additional seed?!

It looks like a weed but I am not sure. Keen to know why this might have happened and what the plant is?

Secondly, the germination is very patchy. Should I lay more seed in the gaps or leave the grass to grow and spread over time?

Thank you

Seed box used: Lawn seed Evergreen multi purpose 16m

Those look like they could be tree seedlings.  Any trees nearby?
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
  • There are a couple of different privet trees down one side.

The new lawn area is about 4x3m, with an even spread of this plant shoot.
