I have a problem with my garden when it rains the water runs down towards the patio and collects until it reseeds and the middle of the lawn collects water so the lawn gets waterlogged . I was thinking to raise level of lawn with gravel and top soil as well as putting a couple of trenches and let the water run to side alley at the side of the house which is a garden path which no one uses? Apart from me when I am cutting the grass there
You'd be better starting a thread with an appropriate title to get suitable advice @byronstewart14 However, yes, it may help to raise the level and improve drainage. French drains may be needed too, depending on how severe the problem is. Photos will help too as it's difficult to visualise the site.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
Can you not work with nature instead of battling with it? How about a wildlife pond with a marshy area surrounding it? Maybe planting a small shrubbery of 'wet-area-loving' shrubs?
