Lawn help please.
Morning all,
I've a lovely labrador that has ruined my garden, probably doesn't help that I've not kept on top of it. We've got burnt grass, patches of no grass & would love to somehow revive it.
What's the best way to start reviving my lawn? I've tried grass seeds but not really gained anything from it so looking for advice.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Hire an electric lawnraker (about £30/day) set it to the lowest setting and thoroughly rake the area. BE WARNED - After you've finished your garden will look a hell of a lot worse than when you started. Inspect the area and, using a garden fork, dig drainage holes in any boggy areas. Buy some multi-purpose compost and spread this out thinly over the whole area to be seeded, filling in drainage holes. This should make it look a little bit better than before. Buy seed. You will need a hard wearing seed that contains ryegrass. Sports utility seed (what they use for football pitches) is ideal. Sow seed at about 4oz/sq yard and cover with a light layer of compost. Water. Continue watering, lightly but frequently, in dry weather. When shoots appear (about 6 weeks) apply light dressing of lawn fertiliser (NOT weed, feed & moss killer) When grass is about 3" high cut on high setting and reseed any bare patches.
Good luck! REMEMBER IF YOU LET YOUR DOG OUT ON THE LAWN IT WILL KILL YOUR GRASS STONE DEAD!
