Rhubarb

I generally get at least one good early crop of what I would consider normal hefty stems from my Rhubarb nd which is now producing thin, weak and mostly flexible stems.
What can I do to improve things?

Have they had plenty of water? Been so dry this year I'm watering mine every other night already.

If you have had it for a long time, it may need dividing and re-planting with plenty of well-rotted manure dug in to the area first.  Otherwise probably drought as Gemma mentions.  Water well in dry periods and give it a good mulch of well-rotted manure when the leaves have died down later this year.
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

@GemmaJF could be. I do water it when I remember, but it's located in a corner that is easy to forget unfortunately.
@BobTheGardener, I don't know how old it was inherited with the house 2 years ago. I've not fed it at all in that time, so will do so come autumn.
    Many thanks both
