Plant identification please

Hi
I have three clumps of this - in different borders - fairly sure I haven't planted (although not 100% confident as I do buy and plant things and then forget) - but definitely not in the borders last year.

Looks like Carex pendula ... seeds all over the place and can be a PITA to get out ... dig it out while it's relatively small ... it'll only get bigger and tougher.

Yes - it's real nuisance. Dreadful stuff.  :/
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Are all Carex grasses like that? I have a golden one and a nice coppery one and every time I see a post about pendula I feel like immediately running to the garden to remove them.  😱 🏃‍♂️ 🌱

No there are some lovely Carex grasses  ... I love some of the bronze ones ... but pendula  grows huge quite fast and has such tenacious roots that can be nigh on impossible to shift.
