Osmanthus Birkwoodii-Discoloured leaves
I have had this shrub for about 10 years and it never did particularly well until I put it into a pot about 5 years ago. It had been in various locations in my garden and never thrived. Since being in a pot it went mad. Grew rather vigorously but still never flowered til last year. I thought I had nailed it. I have repotted it, fed it watered it, pruned it as it was becoming rather dense but the leaves are becoming discoloured. Yellow, black and flecked. It is still producing new growth. Should I be concerned. Please advise. No pests listed.

I never really look at mine, it just does it's thing.
It won't flower if you keep pruning it. Ideally, just remove individual stems if they're outgrowing their space.
They like damp shade best, and not too many brisk winds, although mine is fine in it's windy location. They won't do so well in really hot, sunny spots, but they can cope well enough with sun if they aren't too dry.
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
I have tried to zoom in for a closer look and to me the leaves appear alternate.
They also appear very shiny.

Now this bothers me as Osmanthus burkwoodii leaves are leathery and opposite.
See my 4 pics.
I wonder if by any chance you have an Escallonia...rather than an Osmanthus.?????
Escallonia......They are known for their alternate, glossy, oval leaves and stunning flowers that are long lasting, they come in whites, pinks and reds.
see 3 pics below.
