Trachelospermum

I pruned this Star Jasmine in March, in April it looks like this, any ideas as to why

    If you pull on the bits that have gone brown, are they still actually attached , or are they bits you cut but didn't remove?

    They are still attached

    The leaves are dying also

    Did the dead areas go a very deep and rich red colour before dying off?

    Yes some of them did

    One of mine did the same then died. It was here before we moved here and planted close by another sister / brother of seemingly the same age. That one was not affected and continues to thrive in rude health. I’ve noticed several similar scenarios posted on here over the last two or three years. No conclusion I’m afraid other than it does seem to happen.
