    Agree, definitely a tree peony.

    Arr yes now i look at the buds they do look the same.
    should be nice once in bloom theres about 30 and they are yellow showing.
    My last peony was very short flowering isthere any advise on lengthening flowering time..im used to dahlias...

    If yellow, then likely a lutea type.  They do indeed have a short flowering period but I'm not aware of any way of extending it without some control over climate as they are weather dependent and seem to last longer in cooler weather.
