Spotted laurel leaves

We have two spotted laurel in the garden.  One against a south facing fence, the other facing west.  They seem to be thriving, except for the appearance of black marks on the leaves, mainly in the south face plant.  (Photos of a leaf attached)
We have had no success at identifying the cause.  I remove the leaves that show damage.  Am I doing the right thing, or do they need spraying, more food or water or just leaving alone?
Many thanks in advance..

Provided the rest of the shrub looks healthy and no die-back, I suspect it is likely to be leaf burn. This can happen in sunny borders, and they are probably best planted in more semi shaded to full shaded positions. You can just prune out some of the badly damaged leaves.
