Pumpkins and squash

Is it too early to plant out pumpkin and squash in Surrey? Seedlings have 4 leaves and are getting leggy but don't want to lose them by putting out too early??

Check your last predicted frost date here:

The site will give you precise guidance on sowing and planting times for your location, once it is entered.

Personally I've only just sown my Pumpkins indoors, will go out late May/early June here in Essex.

Agree, I've not planted any cucurbit family seeds yet and plan to sow in the next week or 3.  I've started them off too early before and because it was too cold to plant them out, the roots got pot bound very quicky (in days), even after being repotted into 6" pots and didn't do well at all when finally planted.  Better to time it so they can be planted out as soon as the roots reach the bottom and sides of the pot so the roots can spread without hinderance - they will be supplying a huge amount of water to the plant so need to spread far and deep.
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
