Woolmans Autumn 2019 Free Tulip Offer

I sent off for the above and they are now in flower: 10 x Orange Emperor, 10 x Purple Flag and 10 x Jan Reus. They seem to be doing fine but still waiting for the red Jan Reus to open. Three of the Orange Emperors were double headed so twice the fun. I buried them much deeper than recommended, not by design but wasn't concentrating, so wasn't sure how they would cope. Was too much of a faff to scrape all the grit off and re-plant them higher up. Maybe that's why Jan Reus hasn't yet flowered. Be interesting to know how others got on with these with these tulips...

Love your photos.  Mine did really well in pots but are now going over because of the hot weather. The peachy was georgous.

Deeper is always better for tulips  :)

I bought some Orange Emperor a few years ago, but they're too wishy washy for me.

Are all 30 in that one pot? They'll need a lot of food after they finish, and probably need separated, so that you get some coming back.  :)

What a lovely display of Tulips in the pot
  • Thank you for the kind comments. Yes, Fairygirl, all in one pot. Have noted your recommendation to feed well. What would you feed them? Just a general fertiliser?
