Pruning salvia

Dirty Harry

I have salvia jezebel I planted last Autumn. Should I cut this back like you would a fuchsia or should I just cut off any dead bits that didn't survive the winter?

I'd cut it pretty hard back and watch it romp away.

Can it be done now or best wait until all risk of frost has passed?

I agree with Hosta...go for it, they're as tough as they get. Trimmed mine three weeks back.

I don't know whereabouts you are, but there is a frost forecast for the next couple of nights in some parts of the UK. Having said that, l cut mine back last week,  but they are pretty sheltered.
