hi all, can anyone please identify this tree? For some reason it hasn’t grown, leaves or flowered this last couple of years. Is there anything we can do?
If it's had no leaves at all for two years then I think it's dead . Dig it out, and when the garden centres open again treat yourself to something nice to replace it (and something to improve the soil when you replant, if you don't have homemade compost).
Judging by the growth habit, it may have been a Rhus typhina (Stag's horn sumach) at some point but it is now completely dead so needs removing, as JennyJ said.

Thank you Bob, yes that looks right, it went a lovely red colour. New shoots are growing out of the ground about a foot away from this carcus, which looks like they are the same thing
They are rather infamous for producing suckers and can be invasive but in this case that is good news! Rhus are very susceptible to Honey fungus so definitely remove the old roots, just in case.
