Tomato seedlings

I am hoping someone experienced with tomato seedlings (these are Tumbling Tom) could tell me whether my seedlings are leggy? They germinated over the past few days, I’ve taken them out of the propagator and kept them in the light of sunny windowsills all day. They are growing but look smaller and thinner than some of the other seedlings we’re growing.

Photos below.

Thank you 😊

They look just fine to me @JesseD, the great thing with tomatoes is that you can plant them deep when you pot them on. Right to the first true leaves as they will root from the stem and that makes them a bit more stable.

Thank you! I’ll do that when I put them on. In the meantime I’ll just keep moving them from sunny windowsill to sunny windowsill...😊

They look ok @JesseD and as Herbaceous said they can be buried deep when you pot them on. Wait till the first true leaves develop and then transfer them to small pots with some multi purpose compost. They will need another potting on into much larger pots because they grow rapidly and like some depth for the roots.

I do them every year and mine were started on 13 March and are kept in a small greenhouse with some shade. They have a way to go yet before they go outside towards the end of May.

    Thank you @Purplerain
Like a lot of people here I usually buy small plants and seedlings from garden centres in April/May and like a lot of people I’ve had to make the move to growing my own this year. I’ve wanted to get going with my own seeds for a long time and this has forced me to give it a try. Once I get the basics down I’m hoping we have a nice garden this year. Appreciate your response.
