Can a waterlogged Ceanothus Trewithen Blue be saved?

Hi All,
Wonder if you can help? Over the winter months, our beautiful Ceanothus became waterlogged (we hadn't realised at the time) and it now looks completely dry (possibly dead?) Is it worth trying to plant it out of the large container it was in into a border to see if it will recover, or will this be a waste of time?
