Flattening ant mounds

Greetings all,
I have a few raised mounds in my lawn. I was thinking to pour a warm washing liquid solution then a few days later skim the top mound off.
I will be left with a bare patch and hopefully less ants. I am then hoping to aerate and scarify the lawn followed by a seed and feed. All would be done a few days apart to allow lawn recovery.
My wish was to have a flatter lawn. Is it okay to chop the tops off the mounds? They look flat in pic but the mower does get stuck there.
pics to follow.
Thank you 🌿
