Morning all,
Any idea what this is?
This shrub stands about 6ft tall...ignore the clematis growing over it...
Thanks all.

I think it's one of the ugliest shrubs in existence, but many like it.
It' the colour of the pink flowers - and often planted with forsythia, with it's yellow ones. A hideous combo  :D
I'd plant as many clematis over it as you can @steveTu ;)

....no, don't beat about the bush. Tell me what you actually think!.......

Thank you both. I'll add it to the list of plants on my vast estate...

PS not sure why the clematis is there - for some reason the clematis was planted next to a set of shrubs (mock orange, pear tree, rose bush and that sanguinem thingy) - so it spends all it's life reaching out to make friends with them all...billy no mates.

It's a normal 'thing' for clems to climb through other shrubs and plants.
It's just that we gardeners like to have poncy screens and obelisks for them to grow on  ;)

....am I a gardener then as its home base is a totally overgrown poncy obelisk....?
Actually, thinking about it, my wife was the gardener - she bought all the poncy stuff..obelisks, trelisses....

PS I quite like the sanguinem...
