Lower Hebe leaves

Hi, 
I have posted two pics of the lower leaves on my flowering Hebe. Can't remember the variety but it's purple/blue and flowers late winter.

These lower leaves are falling but the top growth is healthy. I have fed it and given it liquid seaweed too. This one is in a pot but I had the same on one planted in the garden. 

A virus maybe? Or just lower leaves dying and falling away as it grows?

Unless it's perspective, but these Hebes can grow quite big and quite fast. Possibly trying to grow out from that small pot. They also get woody without leaves along the lower sections, so I think those yellowing leaves are nothing to worry about. Just avoid growing them in rich compost and stick to free draining soil, they should be fine.
