Rabbit ate the top off globemasters!

Dear Gardner World,
I have a rabbit who ate the big bud off my Chatsworth Flower show Globemasters. Some of the leaves are left and the stem. Will they be ruined forever or just this season?
I think they will probably have lost the most important part of the plant and be weakened forever. Anyone know if I should bin them or keep them? The rabbit is fine just so you know.
Many thanks in advance,
Victoria

Rabbits will eat almost anything they fancy.
It might survive for next year [the allium that is ;) ]
If you give them some slow release food while they die back down, they might be ok.
I'm not holding out too much hope for Bugs Bunny though... :D

I think they'll be fine for next year; losing the flower stem won't weaken them, the main thing is the leaves are intact.

the fact that the flower has gone will actually HELP the bulb. Flowers use up huge amounts of energy , without it, the plant can make food stores for next year.

It's why tulips are deadheaded by growers too - to build the bulb up  :)
