Have I killed it?

Hi, we planted 2 purple fountain grasses last year and they did really well. When I bought them, the man at the garden centre said don’t cut it back until the spring. So I left them over winter and cut them back about 3 weeks ago, but nothing seems to be happening every thing around them is doing really well but these dead. Am I being impatient or have I killed them. Thanks in advance.

    Do you mean Pennisetums? 
    They aren't hardy unless you're in a very warm part of the UK with no frost, and even then...
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    I wish they had 😫 I would have brought them in.
