Plant ID please. First time gardener!

Hello all. Just moved into my first house with an actual garden. Daunted and excited by the task ahead! Currently trying to figure out what is a weed and what is a potential pretty plant on my borders. Any help much appreciated, thanks :)

    That looks to me a bit like Lysimachia punctata ...  common name Yellow loostrife.

    Thanks so much :smile: Yes I think I remember seeing that when we moved in in August; seems to be all over the borders.

    What about this one? It looks like new grass leaves emerging from the dead old ones. Assume I just pull away the dead ones?

    Not sure what it is, could be a haemerocallis (Day lily) maybe?  but yes, pull out the dead stuff and see what you have left ... we might be able to give a better ID when it's grown a bit ... but when it flowers we'll have it I'm sure  ;)

    Looks like Crocosmia...used to be called Montbretia
    Perthshire. SCOTLAND .

    I think crocosmia as well, l have some that looks very similar.
