Problem with cherry laurel

Hi, we are in Hertfordshire,have just moved and one of our cherry laurels has a rust colour on many of its leaves but only few obvious holes. The new growth seems to be stunted and a yellowy colour instead of dark green. What could this be and how can we remedy it.

    It's fairly normal. All evergreens drop foliage, especially after winter. Most problems with them can be solved by cutting back. Lots of holes everywhere can be shot hole disease.

    Many thanks for that. Very helpful. Cant show you a photo as we have already cut the affected leaves off!
