Can anybody ID this taken today in a nearby field?

Possibly blackthorn - sloe. It has 5 petal flowers which bloom before leaves appear.

I'd agree with
@steephill
. Looks like Blackthorn to me too.
Mine is just starting to get a 'floral glow'
Did it have thorns?
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Yes it had thorns but not as evil as the “Berberis” ;-). Thanks guys.
