I know you shouldn’t plant these too deep...it flowered well last year should I have planted it deeper than this as it appears to be struggling. It’s a bit too late for digging up now? Would mounding it up with the surrounding soil help at all? Thankyou

    I think that is higher than I would want. A mulch of well rotted manure or compost mixed with fertiliser should do it

    Thanks @fidgetbones. Should I try to plant it deeper at the end of the season. I covered it earlier in the season and somehow it becomes uncovered again! 🤪

    I wouldn't dig it up, just keep top dressing it.

    I keep mine quite 'high' as we have very wet conditions, which isn't ideal for peonies.
    Mine has only the new 'buds' showing, and is surrounded by gravel to prevent excess water encroaching on the central crown. 
    I think a wee layer of compost, or similar, now and again will do the trick @Copperdog :)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
