Bark peeling off at bottom of Sycamore

I am concerned that a large sections of bark are lifting off the base of my Sycamore for about half the circumference.  Underneath appears to be wood (not new bark).  Is the tree dying? It’s about 15 years old so not fully grown with trunk diameter of about 30cms. It has buds about to break on the good side but only small buds on the affected side.  Is there anything that I can do? Would really appreciate any advise as obviously can’t ask a tree surgeon to come round at this time.  Many thanks Glynis

    Hi that happens on all well established sycamores. Totally normal. It because the different layers of bark are growing at different rates
