Salvia pruning

Hi all. Is it ok to prune a salvia bush now? Mine is looking really straggly 
Marne la vallée, basically just outside Paris 🇫🇷, but definitely Scottish at heart.

    I'm leaving mine a for few more weeks. It's still chilly here and the garden isn't sheltered. You'll probably be OK if you have a milder climate or a sheltered garden.
    Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained

    I agree, l usually wait until around mid April  :)
  • How do you actually do it, can I take them right down or just a jentle trim?

  • Thanks annid nice video, mine are still green with the first flush of new leaves so I guess I have a job for tomorrow.

    We are still getting frosts in London, I will wait a bit. Just strimming should be fine.
  • Just pruned my young salvia curviflora thats been living in garage over winter. It’s got fresh growth the full length of the stems but I’ve only taken off about a third as I’m terrified of killing it! It comes out during the day for some sun but it’ll stay in the garage overnight until the frosts are no more :-)
