Please help identify

I have been trying to get rid of this plant for years with not much joy most of the bulbs it is attached too are to deep to reach or they snap before you can get to them.  If I leave them will they flower and smother areas?

Thanks Silver, I really don't like it, years of trying to get rid of it! but will learn to live with it, as it is quite a thug and very resilient!

If you use a weeder you should be able to remove the whole plant including the bulblets @StillLearning ...it's slow work but definitely brings down spread. I find this design (many brands available) seems to work: https://www.tooled-up.com/spear-and-jackson-elements-hand-weeder/prod/162281/

Morning George, thanks for the link but I have one of these and unfortunately some of the bulbs are so deep it cannot reach before the white stem snaps. Papi Jo the dandelion-weeder looks about the same length I have looked at links in north America and it appears to be quite a problem, so now a little concerned.  I have always prided myself on non-chemical usage but will now purchase weedkiller as I have previously tried vinegar with no luck.....
