New rose too soon for propagation

Hello, 

I've got a rose that was planted last year and I'd like to take a cutting. Is it too soon to do it and should I wait until it's a bit more established or can i crack on with softwood cuttings?

..you can do softwood cuttings at this time, yes... best of luck..
